Ball Bearings High Temperature Applications FAQS

QWhat is Y-bearing units for extreme temperatures?

AY-bearing units for extreme temperatures have housings of grey cast iron. The housings are available in the following designs ● Plummer block ● Flanged housing; square flange with four holes for attachment bolts ● Flanged housing; oval flange with two holes for attachment bolts

QHow to selecte the bearing size?

AThe size of bearing or unit required for a given application is selected with reference to the loads which are to be expected. For Y-bearings and Y-bearing units of the VA228 and VA201 designs, the requisite size is determined based on the basic static load rating C0, as the bearings rotate at very slow speeds

QWhat is High temperature bearings and bearing units?

Ahigh temperature bearings and bearing units are designed to deliver increased reliability, reduced complexity and decreased environmental impact in operating temperatures up to 350 °C (660 °F). Because high temperature bearings correspond to the ISO dimensions of grease-lubricated bearings, production efficiencies and cost savings can be realized with a simple change to the bearing solution.

QWhat is High Temperatures Bearing benefits and features?

AReduced total operating cost: The bearings are designed to maintain the radial clearance needed for high temperature operation and so will not seize, even when they cool rapidly, and therefore provide a long service life. Virtually maintenance-free operation: The bearings are lubricated for life and do not need relubrication. Only variant VA201 without shields requires relubrication. Excellent performance under severe conditions: hot conditions dry environments low rotational speeds Reduced environmental impact. Reduced machine design complexity.
